The First Thanksgiving That Was Celebrated By The Pilgrims & The Native
Americans Was Based On The Jewish Holy Day Called The Feast Of Tabernacles:

(Deuteronomy 16:16 KJV)
"Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God
in the place which he shall choose;
in the feast of unleavened bread,
and in the feast of weeks,
and in
the feast of tabernacles:
and they shall not appear before the LORD empty:"

Still today, Israel celebrates this Holy Day in the Fall,
which is sometimes called The Festival Of Booths.
It is a celebration for giving thanks to our Creator God for His provision.

The Declaration Of Independence has this phrase:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident;  That
all men are created Equal,
    and that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights;
that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness."

The Founding Fathers' understanding of Human Equality
may have been based on these Biblical passages:

(Proverbs 22:2 KJV)
"The rich and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of them all."

(Ecclesiastes 11:5 KJV)
"As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit,
nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child:
even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all."

(Malachi 2:10 KJV)
"Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us?
why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother,
by profaning the covenant of our fathers?"

"Blood And Breath" - Proof Of Our Human Equality :

(Acts 17:24 KJV)
"God that made the world and all things therein,
seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth,
dwelleth not in temples made with hands;"

(Acts 17:25 KJV)
"Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing,
seeing
he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;"

(Acts 17:26 KJV)
"And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth,
and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;"

Many of our American phrases are based on the Bible,
and our younger generations are simply unaware of this fact:

  • Exodus 12:15,19  &  13:7 - The American practice of "Spring Cleaning" is based on God's Biblical command to remove all yeast (or leaven) out of Israel's home for the seven day Feast of
    Unleavened Bread.

  • Isaiah 65:5 - thinking we are "Holier Than Thou" is said to be evil.

  • Isaiah 42:3  &  Matthew 12:20 - the American belief that "it is evil to kick a man
when he's already down" is a concept that is clearly seen in these passages
concerning the compassionate nature of the Messiah of Israel, Jesus Christ.

  • 1 Samuel 7:15-17 - our American "circuit courts" and "circuit court judges"
may have received their name from this Biblical passage.
It is possible that this is a reminder to our judges to avoid a superior attitude
toward their fellow citizens who they are settling disputes for.
As opposed to a hierarchy mindset that believes judges are somehow "above" other citizens,
Samuel's movement was "among" his fellow citizens - which promotes human Equality
rather than a belief in human Inequality.

  • Ezekiel 18:25,29 - in our courts, "the Scales Of Justice" can often be seen.
The sentiment of this symbol is spoken of in this passage in Ezekiel.
God says He correctly balances the need for judgment with the need for mercy.
